About Soup Studios
"London's finest studio by a country mile. Book now"
David John Sheppard
" Spent a day in the new Soup Studios yesterday. It's still the best, better then ever in fact. Wall to wall vox, fender, pianos, organs etc, but more than that, super smart, intuitive, adventurous and respectful engineers who know good records. Cheap too. "
Darren Hayman
"Amazing. We recorded our album there (Allo Darlin') and will never go anywhere else, ever. Simon was brilliant and the room was awesome. Go go go go go"
Elizabeth Morris
Soup Studio is an analogue and digital recording studio in East London.
Set up by Simon Trought in 2001, Soup has moved between various locations in East London, including the much-loved basement beneath the Duke of Uke, before arriving at Cable St, Limehouse in 2011. Simon talks about the story of the studio in this interview with Tape Op magazine.
Housed in a victorian warehouse, the new studio has been designed from top to bottom by the engineers themselves for analogue recording. We have Pro Tools as well though, don't worry. Previous incarnations of the studio were popular for their cosy atmosphere, and we have tried to retain this whilst providing a more spacious, better sounding, and more comfortable environment to record and mix music in. Have a look at our studio page for more information and pictures, see our list of previous clients or get in touch if you'd like to have a look around.
The songs below were all recorded at the previous studio, but we'll put some new ones up soon.
